Last night we met Scott, one of Doug's musical collaborators. With a one day notice he was able to come into rehearsal for at least an hour so we focused our attention on the tunes with a horn section (Peter was unable to attend). To say Scott is a strong player is an understatement. He belted out parts with a conviction that had us instantly into a groove.
It also helps that the rhythm section is meeting separately to nail down the arrangements as well, providing solid grooves for the other players. Add Bobbi's vocals on top of that and we are sounding pretty sweet for a band that has had two rehearsals!
